Parents have been advised to look out for signs and symptoms of autistic disorder in their children, so they can get professional help in the early stages.

Johor Children Autism Society president Ruwinah Abdul Karim said it was important for parents to stay committed to helping their autistic children to overcome their difficulties and fears.

She said while some parents were in denial about their children’s disorder, there were also those who were not consistent in helping their children undergo therapy.
